Standing on Beycesultan Mound in Denizli’s Çivril district, Beycesultan Tomb is a small historic monument with a close connection to the area’s past. Built in honour of the Anatolian dervish Beyce Sultan, it has an octagonal body, stone walls and a brick dome. Its masonry includes cut stone and marble reused from earlier buildings. No inscription survives to confirm its exact construction date, but its architecture reflects the traditions of the 14th-century Germiyanid period. For visitors interested in local history, the tomb adds another chapter to the story of the archaeological mound that bears Beyce Sultan’s name.

Boğaziçi Old Mosque is an 18th-century Ottoman mosque in the Boğaziçi neighbourhood of Baklan, Denizli. Its modest exterior gives little indication of the colourful interior, where wooden columns and arches frame a richly decorated prayer hall. The timber ceiling, floral patterns and wall paintings make it a rewarding stop for anyone interested in historic architecture and traditional craftsmanship. Look closely at the walls to discover flowers, vases, mosque and Kaaba depictions, along with symbolic imagery such as the scales of judgement. More unusual details include paintings of a yataghan sword and flintlock firearms. If you would like to see the interior, check access arrangements with local officials before travelling

Also known as Serbanşah Mosque, it is recorded by Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism as having been built in 1882 by Ömer Ağa. Inside, six wooden columns, a decorated timber ceiling and stained-glass windows make it a rewarding stop for visitors interested in traditional architecture. Kültür Portalı Look closely at the painted decorations around the mihrab and along the walls: among the floral designs are unusual depictions of watermelons and knives. The mosque offers plenty of small details to appreciate during a visit to the Çivril area. Dress modestly, ask permission before entering and avoid disturbing worshippers when taking photographs.
