Boğaziçi Old Mosque is an 18th-century Ottoman mosque in the Boğaziçi neighbourhood of Baklan, Denizli. Its modest exterior gives little indication of the colourful interior, where wooden columns and arches frame a richly decorated prayer hall. The timber ceiling, floral patterns and wall paintings make it a rewarding stop for anyone interested in historic architecture and traditional craftsmanship. Look closely at the walls to discover flowers, vases, mosque and Kaaba depictions, along with symbolic imagery such as the scales of judgement.
