Data controller

Categories of personal data

• Identity and account data: username, display name, account identifiers and verification status.
• Contact data: email address and information supplied in communications.
• Security data: password hash, session records, authentication attempts, timestamps, user-agent and security logs.
• Profile and content data: biography, country, avatar, forum content, replies, reviews, votes and follows.
• Travel contribution data: place suggestions, Radar reports, locations voluntarily supplied and uploaded evidence.
• Transaction and marketing interaction data: affiliate link, placement, random click identifiers and commission-related records.
• Preference data: analytics and marketing consent choices stored in the browser.

Purposes of processing

• Creating accounts, authenticating users and maintaining platform security.
• Providing profiles, community discussions, reviews, notifications and travel-information services.
• Receiving, reviewing and publishing place suggestions and safety reports.
• Preventing abuse, enforcing rules, handling complaints and maintaining audit records.
• Responding to users and meeting applicable legal obligations.
• Measuring service and affiliate performance and, where required, running optional analytics with consent.

Collection methods and legal grounds

Data may be collected electronically through registration and login forms, Google authentication, profile and content forms, uploaded files, security logs, cookie preferences and affiliate-link interactions.

Depending on the processing activity, the applicable legal ground may include explicit consent, necessity for forming or performing a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, establishment or protection of a right, or legitimate interests provided that fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed.

Recipients and transfers

Data may be shared to the limited extent necessary with hosting, database, email, authentication, security, analytics and affiliate service providers; competent public authorities; and professional advisers where legally required.

Some service providers may process data outside Türkiye. International transfers, where applicable, are handled according to the transfer rules and safeguards required by applicable law.

Retention and protection

Data is retained for periods appropriate to account operation, moderation, security, dispute resolution and legal obligations. It is deleted, anonymised or restricted when the purpose and applicable retention requirement end.

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, including access controls, secure authentication cookies and password hashing.

Rights of the data subject

• Learn whether personal data is processed and request information about processing.
• Learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used consistently with that purpose.
• Learn the third parties to whom data is transferred domestically or abroad.
• Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data.
• Request deletion or destruction where the applicable legal conditions are met.
• Request notification of correction, deletion or destruction to relevant recipients where applicable.
