What happened?

"Some private banks' ATMs charge massive commissions between 7% and 10% on foreign cards (especially Euronet ATMs). Use state banks' (Ziraat, Halkbank, Vakıfbank) ATMs; their commission rates are much lower or completely free."

What should I do?

Check the currency and final amount on the terminal. Decline unwanted currency conversion and keep the receipt.
