Hey guys, I wanted to share something positive after my transport worries earlier. Today I took the public ferry from Karaköy to Kadıköy around 6:30 PM just as the sun was setting, and honestly, it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced.Before boarding, I saw some locals buying these round sesame breads (I think they call it 'Simit') from a street cart for like 15-20 TL. I bought two, got on the open deck of the ferry, and as soon as we started moving, dozens of seagulls started flying right next to the boat! Feeding them while watching the Sultanahmet skyline and the Maiden’s Tower in the golden hour was unreal.If you are on a budget, please don’t waste 30-40 Euros on those touristy Bosphorus dinner cruises. Just get an Istanbulkart, pay less than 1 Euro for the public ferry, buy a Simit, and sit outside.

"I couldn't agree more with you, John, that ferry ride is absolutely magical! My girlfriend and I actually did the exact same route yesterday during sunset without knowing about your post, and it was incredible. It is crazy how some companies charge €40 for a Bosphorus tourist cruise when this public ferry gives you the exact same stunning views for pocket change. Feeding those massive seagulls was so much fun, they are incredibly brave and will take the simit right out of your hand! We also sat on the open deck with a small glass of Turkish tea, which made the whole experience even better. Kadıköy has a completely different, cooler vibe compared to the European side, so we are really glad we crossed over. What a brilliant coincidence that we both discovered this cheap masterpiece!"
