About this place
Discovered accidentally under a rural house garden in Çaycuma, the Kadıoğlu Mosaics (Kadıoğlu Mozaikleri) are a stunning collection of late Roman and early Byzantine floor masterpieces. Dating back to the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, these beautifully preserved mosaics once decorated a luxury Roman villa, featuring intricate depictions of Lycurgus and the vine, geometric patterns, and seasonal personifications that offer a rare glimpse into the ancient wealth hidden beneath the soil of the Black Sea region
