Rising around 450 metres above the Black Sea, Boztepe offers a sweeping view of Ordu, with the city spread across its lower slopes and the coastline stretching into the distance. It is a lovely place to pause, order a glass of Turkish tea and take in the scenery. The cable car from the waterfront near Atatürk Park makes the journey part of the experience, revealing more of the city as you climb. Boztepe can also be reached by road, roughly six kilometres from the city centre. At the top, cafés, restaurants and wooded picnic areas make it easy to spend some time enjoying the view. For photographs, choose a clear day when the coastline is visible; low cloud can hide much of the panorama. Bring a light layer if you plan to stay into the evening.
