Lara or Belek with little kids — can you actually sleep before midnight?

How do you pick a family hotel in Antalya that isn't blasting music right outside your room every night? Lara and Belek both look beautiful, but “family friendly” seems to mean everything from toddler pools to huge evening shows. Fun, sure... until you're trying to get an exhausted kid to sleep lol. Would you book a sea-view room or is that sometimes the noisy side? And can you actually reserve a quiet room, or do they just say “we'll try” when you arrive? Also wondering about the beach. Is the water shallow for a bit, or does it get deep fast? I'd rather know about stones, waves and slippery entrances before getting there. If you've stayed recently, which hotel and room area worked for you? Please include the month you went. Pretty brochure pics arent helping me figure this out 😅

Yep, “family friendly” can mean a splash pool at noon and a DJ keeping your kid awake at night 😅 I’d pick the hotel and room location first, rather than assume Belek will be quieter than Lara. I wouldn’t pay extra for sea view until I knew what sits below that balcony. If it’s the outdoor stage or beach bar, you might be paying extra to hear the show from bed. Garden view can be better, but check what’s on that side too. Could be another hotel’s entertainment. WhatsApp the hotel before booking and be specific: kids asleep by 8, room away from amplified music, which building can they actually confirm? Ask when outdoor music finishes in your travel month. “Quiet room requested” and “this building is confirmed” are two very different answers. “We’ll try” isn’t necessarily a trick, but it leaves you gambling on whatever’s available when you arrive. Get them to mark the suggested building on their hotel map. And don’t accept “the show finishes at 10” as the whole answer—ask whether a DJ or outdoor bar carries on afterwards. That’s the bit you care about. For reviews, I’d look for someone who stayed in your month and mentions their room block or which way it faced. “Lovely hotel, great entertainment” is nice, but doesn’t tell you whether their toddler slept. Someone saying they could hear bass with the balcony door shut? Much more useful. The beach needs a separate check. Sand around the sunbeds doesn’t guarantee soft sand under your feet in the water, and neither area guarantees a long shallow entrance. Ask for a recent phone video from the actual shoreline. You want to see the waterline and someone walking in, not a drone shot of turquoise water 🤷‍♂️ Ask directly about pebbles, a sudden slope and whether the usual entrance involves slippery steps. Water shoes help with rough footing. They don’t fix waves or a steep drop, so check the sea each day and stay within arm’s reach of the little ones. I can’t give you a recent room number and stay month from personal experience. What month are you going, and which hotels are on your shortlist? That’s where we can get specific instead of guessing from the brochure.
