I’ve got two weeks for Istanbul, Cappadocia and Kaş, and keep changing how to split it. Is seven nights in Istanbul a bit much? I’m more into food, art and wandering about than ticking off sights, so reckon I could fill it pretty easily.

A week in Istanbul? For food, art and wandering, easily. You don’t need to spend every day queueing for monuments. Cross over to Kadıköy, wander around Galata, stop for lunch somewhere and let the afternoon go. That’s half the fun here. The awkward bit is getting from Cappadocia to Kaş. Kaş has no airport, so even after flying to the coast you’ve still got a road journey. Don’t count that as a beach day 😅 I’d keep the Istanbul week if that’s what you fancy, but work out that transfer before booking everything else.
