Fethiye boat trips with kids — how do I know we’re booking a quiet boat with proper life jackets?

The boat photos look amazing and my older kid is already sold. I’m the one stuck worrying about the details. We’d have two kids with us, including a toddler. I want swimming stops and a relaxing lunch, but definitely don’t want to accidentally book a party boat with music blasting all afternoon. Does “family friendly” actually mean anything when booking these? How do you check which boat you’ll be on? Can we see it at the harbor before paying, and get the boat name on the booking? I dont want to choose a smaller boat and then get moved onto something completely different. The life jackets are my biggest thing. Has anyone checked whether they have toddler sizes that actually fit, with straps between the legs? “Yes, we have jackets” feels a little vague. Also, are the swimming stops all in deep water, or can you get off at a beach? What’s boarding like with a little kid, and is there enough shade to sit out a stop? Would love an actual departure/return time and recent price, including drinks, transfers and kids’ charges. Is a shorter trip an option? Eight hours sounds lovely until somebody needs a nap and we’re nowhere near land.

“Family friendly” doesn’t tell you whether they blast music. If you’re already in Fethiye, go to the harbour, see the actual boat and ask about music, shaded seats and boarding steps. Get its name on the booking and agree what happens if they swap boats. For the toddler, have them show you the life jacket and try it on before sailing: correct weight range, snug fit and a strap between the legs. An oversized orange jacket isn’t good enough. No proper fit, no trip. Don’t assume swimming stops mean beaches. Many involve deep water and a ladder back onto the boat. Ask specifically whether there’s a beach landing; you can also stay aboard in the shade. Shared trips commonly run roughly 10–10:30am to 5–5:30pm. Current advertised adult prices vary from around €25–30 to about 1,750 lira; lunch is often included, but get drinks, transfers and both kids priced before paying. With a toddler, I’d look for a private half-day trip and agree the return time. Once a shared boat leaves, you can’t just hop off when everyone’s had enough 😅
