If you look at Antalya on a map and assume everything is close together, I have a small surprise for you.
It isn’t.
I made that mistake on my first trip. Kaleiçi in the morning, Konyaaltı for lunch, then somewhere further east in the afternoon. On the map, it looked perfectly reasonable. In reality, part of the day disappeared into buses, wrong directions and wondering, “Where exactly am I now?”
So when planning Antalya, think in areas, not individual sights. Stay around Kaleiçi, Konyaaltı, Lara or whichever part you choose and explore that area properly. You can move to another side of the city the next day. Your feet will appreciate the decision.
And don’t underestimate the heat. In July and August, Antalya’s average high temperature is around 35°C. A long walk at noon sounds fine while you’re sitting in an air-conditioned room. It feels very different once you’re standing on a pavement with the sun directly above you.
I’d plan outdoor sightseeing for the morning and late afternoon, especially in summer. Keep the hottest part of the day for the beach, lunch or somewhere with air conditioning. Take this seriously.
Getting from the airport also doesn’t mean jumping into the first taxi you see. Antalya Airport has public transport connections to the city, including buses and the tram system. Check current routes and times before leaving rather than relying on an old blog post you found three years ago.
And one more thing: don’t treat Antalya as nothing more than a beach stop. You can swim in the morning, wander through old streets later, and spend another day exploring somewhere outside the city.
Just don’t try to do all of it in three days.
At that point, you’re not planning a holiday. You’re managing a logistics operation.
