Seeing the first waterfall at Aydınpınar raises a question: where are the others? This is a landscape of five successive waterfall groups, giving a woodland walk the pleasure of discovering what lies farther along the stream.
Located approximately 10 kilometres south of Düzce city centre, within the boundaries of Aydınpınar village, Aydınpınar Waterfalls Nature Park offers a chance to explore the forest without travelling far from town. Its proximity, however, does not mean every route is an easy stroll. Allow time for a proper walk when planning your visit.
Five Waterfalls, a Landscape Revealed Gradually

The successive waterfall groups give Aydınpınar its character. As you explore, your attention moves between the water in front of you and the thought of what might be waiting upstream.
That anticipation is part of the walk’s appeal. The landscape unfolds gradually, leaving something beyond your current view to wonder about.
There is no need to make seeing all five waterfall groups a compulsory goal. Choose your route according to which paths are open, the condition of the ground and your own walking ability.
Among Hornbeam, Oak and Chestnut Trees
A mixed broadleaf forest of hornbeam, oak and chestnut trees surrounds the waterfalls. The woodland deserves as much attention as the destination.
As you walk, occasionally shift your gaze from the path ahead to the details nearby: the texture of bark, overlapping leaves or water glimpsed between branches. It is easy to overlook these smaller scenes while waiting for a wider view.
For photographers, this variety offers plenty to explore. Alongside images of the waterfalls themselves, look for compositions that show how the trees and water share the landscape.
Is the Walk Suitable for Everyone?
Aydınpınar has moderately difficult trails as well as more demanding routes. Do not assume that every path will feel like a gentle walk through a town park.
If you are new to hiking, choose a shorter route and leave enough time to turn back comfortably. When visiting with children or someone with limited mobility, ask at the entrance about current trail conditions and suitable sections.
Bring drinking water, wear shoes with a good grip and carry a layer suited to the weather. Take your time on ground that may become slippery after rain. Setting a pace that suits the slowest walker helps everyone enjoy the outing.
How to Get to Aydınpınar Waterfalls
From central Düzce, head south towards Aydınpınar village and follow the waterfall signs. Its location makes it a practical day trip, but allow sufficient time for both the walk and your return.
Check admission charges, opening hours and trail access before setting out. Keep your plans flexible in wet weather, when walking conditions may change.
You do not have to count off every waterfall to have a rewarding day at Aydınpınar. Walk as far as feels comfortable and pause wherever the view catches your attention. One of the pleasures of time in the forest is remembering that you do not have to hurry to the next stop.
