ommodation business. But the customers said the money they had already paid was not refunded. A cancelled holiday had become a dispute over 100,000 TL. This was more than an online complaint This case is useful for Radar because it did not remain simply a review posted online. The customers submitted the dispute to the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO). During the disciplinary process, documentation relating to the case was examined. This reportedly included: Reservation records Payment documents WhatsApp conversations between the parties That evidence is important. The case was therefore not based only on someone saying: “A hotel owes me money.” There were records showing the reservation, the payments and communication between the customers and the accommodation business. What did the review find? According to the reported disciplinary findings, the accommodation business had received payment but was unable to provide the promised accommodation service. The customers' payments were also not returned. The business was asked to submit a defence during the process but reportedly did not provide one within the disciplinary review. The matter then went before the chamber's assembly. The disciplinary proposal was accepted unanimously, and the business received a formal reprimand. That does not make this a criminal court judgment. It is important to keep that distinction clear. But it does mean this was more than an unverified social-media accusation. Documents were examined and a professional body took disciplinary action. Why does this matter for travelers? Hotel disputes can become difficult when everything has been arranged through phone calls or informal conversations. This case shows why keeping a clear record matters. If you pay a hotel directly, keep: Your reservation confirmation The agreed dates and price Payment receipts Bank transfer or card records Cancellation messages Emails and WhatsApp conversations If the booking is cancelled, also ask for the refund terms and expected refund date in writing. A message saying: “Your refund will be processed within seven days” can become much more useful later than a telephone conversation you cannot document. Why does this matter for Radar? One dispute involving one accommodation business does not mean hotels in Antalya generally behave this way. Radar should never make that assumption. The useful question is whether independent travelers begin reporting the same type of problem. For example: A confirmed reservation is cancelled. The traveler has already paid. A refund is promised but does not arrive. Communication becomes difficult after cancellation. Multiple travelers independently describe the same sequence. One report shows one incident. Repeated independent reports may indicate a pattern worth investigating. If this happens to you Do not delete your booking confirmation after making a reservation. Keep the complete payment trail. If a cancellation happens, save screenshots of relevant messages and ask for the refund timeline in writing. If you later submit a Radar report, include supporting evidence whenever possible. Before uploading anything, hide sensitive information such as your full card number, bank account details, passport number, home address and other personal information. This example Radar report is based on a real accommodation dispute in Antalya in 2026. The information comes from public reporting about a disciplinary process in which reservation documents, payment records and communications between the parties were reviewed. The customers and accommodation business have intentionally not been identified in this Radar report. TurkTravelRadar was not a party to the dispute. Have you experienced something similar? Share what happened on Radar. Your report could help another traveler understand what to document if a reservation is cancelled and a refund does not arrive. Whenever possible, support your report with reservation records, payment evidence and written communication. One report shows one incident. When independent travelers begin reporting the same behavior, Radar can start detecting a pattern.
